7Common Questions
Is AAS only for civil servants?
No — it's open to private-sector professionals and civil society, prioritising development fields and eastern-Indonesia candidates.
How many hours can students work in Australia?
Up to 48 hours per fortnight in term time (uncapped during official breaks). At ± A$24/hour minimum wage, part-time meaningfully offsets living costs.
What strings come with the AAS scholarship?
Australia Awards recipients must return to Indonesia for at least 2 years after study — by design. If your goal is an Australian career, consider university scholarships + the post-study work visa instead.
