Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email, WhatsApp number, city, and password (stored as a hash — we can never read your password).
• Readiness data: assessment answers, your Global Readiness Score and its history, module progress, documents you write (CV, essays, etc.) with mentor reviews, and mock interview results.
• Funding data (only if you apply for funding/fellowship): financial need, estimated costs, and family background. This is sensitive data accessible to admins only — never to other mentors, partners, or students.
• Payment data: transaction status from our payment provider (Mayar). We never store card numbers or payment credentials.
• Technical data: page-visit statistics collected without tracking cookies — IP addresses are converted into anonymous daily codes that cannot be traced back to you.

2. How data is used

• Calculating and updating your readiness score and pathway recommendations.
• Facilitating mentoring: your assigned mentor can see your learning profile, documents, and progress.
• Matching with partners (see section 3).
• Processing payments, receipts, and service communications (email/WhatsApp).
• Improving the product through aggregate statistics that identify no individual.

We never sell your personal data to anyone.

3. Talent pool & two-layer consent

When you reach Ready for Matching status, your profile appears in the partner talent pool ANONYMOUSLY — only a candidate code, verified scores, and a readiness summary. Your name and contact details are hidden.

Your identity is revealed to one specific partner only after two approvals: the admin approves that partner's request, and you are always notified. You may decline or withdraw your profile from the talent pool at any time.

4. KI Work job board & applicant data

When you APPLY to an opening on the KI Work job board, your readiness profile (candidate code, score, work experience, skill certificates, languages, target countries) and your mentor-approved documents (e.g. CV) are shared with the placement partner that owns that opening, for selection purposes. This consent is stated on the application form.

Sharing applies ONLY to the partner whose opening you applied to — not to all partners. Your name and personal contact stay closed until the partner's official process requires them and you are notified.

Your application status (screening, interview, forwarded, hired/rejected) is recorded and sent to you as notifications.

5. Third-party processors

• Railway (server & database infrastructure).
• Mayar (payment processing).
• Resend (transactional email) and WhatsApp services — when those channels are active.

Each receives only the data required for its function.

6. Storage & security

Passwords are bcrypt-hashed; data access is role-scoped (mentors see only their assigned students, partners see only anonymous profiles, funding data is admin-only); all traffic is HTTPS-encrypted.

Visit statistics are automatically deleted after 90 days. Account data is kept while your account is active; you may request deletion (section 6).

7. Your rights

• Access and update your data via the Profile menu.
• Request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data.
• Withdraw consent to appear in the talent pool.
• File a complaint about data processing.

8. Job/scholarship alerts (leads) & testimonials

If you fill the “Notify me” form (no account needed), we store your email, optional WhatsApp number, track interest, and chosen countries — solely to send relevant job/scholarship updates. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link; once you opt out, we stop sending.

Testimonials are submitted voluntarily by students from their dashboard, under a name they write themselves (nicknames allowed). They appear on the site only after moderation, and you may request edits or removal anytime via our official contacts.

Partner organization logos are uploaded by partners themselves through their dashboard, and partners are responsible for the rights to them.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we notify you via email and/or an in-platform notification before the change takes effect.
