3Indicative Pay & Costs — Who Pays?

Indicatively NT$27,000–NT$33,000/month for formal sectors before deductions; overtime adds significantly.

Taiwan-route costs are officially regulated and partly borne by workers (deducted gradually from wages). Ensure the breakdown is written into the contract — our partners must show it before signing.

8Common Questions

Why is Taiwan faster?

There's no gatekeeping language test like JLPT/EPS-TOPIK, so the longest stages are just employer matching and paperwork.

Is it true agencies deduct a lot from Taiwan salaries?

Monthly service-fee deductions by Taiwanese agencies exist and are legal within limits, but excessive deductions are a real problem. Read the deduction details in your contract BEFORE signing, and ask KI Academy/BP2MI to review if unsure — KI Academy candidates never pay us.

How long are Taiwan work contracts?

Contracts typically run 3 years and are renewable — total stays can reach 12 years (longer for caregivers meeting point criteria). Renewal doesn't require switching agencies.

How important is Mandarin?

For factory operators, basic Mandarin (introductions, numbers, safety instructions) is usually enough at departure. Caregivers need better conversation for daily communication with elders & families — KI Academy language modules adjust to your target.
